When in Florida you’ll be expecting tons of sunshine and where there’s sunshine, there’s always going to be golf. When in Dunedin, Florida, golf courses are fairly easy to come across. Here’s a few of the top courses in the area and some of the amenities they offer:
- Dunedin Stirling Links
Dunedin Stirling Links course is a course that is surrounded by nature and is located near the world famous Clearwater Beach. Spanning across 27 acres of land, with an 18-hole par three course, it features a state of the art driving range that will have you awestruck by the scenery all the while. Not only is the range kept in great shape, but they also offer a post 4pm happy hour with $2.00 drafts on top of a lunch special every single day.
- Dunedin Golf Club and Fairway Grill
Open since 1927, the Dunedin Golf Club and Fairway Grill is another one of the top golf courses in the Dunedin area. Designed by world-renowned golf course architect, Donald Ross, the club was the home of the PGA of America from 1945 to 1962. Surrounded by lush greens and kept in supreme condition, you’ll be teeing off where some of the greats, such as Al Watrous, Ben Hogan, Harold “Jug” McSpaden, Jimmer Demaret, and Babe Zaharias, once played themselves.
- Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Club
Situated on 140 acres of land, the Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Club is located on the Chi Chi Rodriguez Academy Campus in Clearwater, Florida. As a par-69 course containing over 70 treacherous sand traps, fairways that are covered in Bermuda grass, and water hazards on 12 holes, the course will keep you on your toes every step of the way. With reduced rates for juniors as well as all of the proceeds from the club going toward supporting the Academy students, the club also serves as a living classroom to give the students a hands-on and interactive learning experience. With a Pro Shop right on location, golfers can shop for supplies, snacks, beverages, and clothing before teeing off.
With so many options to choose from when golfing in Dunedin, don’t be afraid to go off course, so to speak. Find fairways that suit you with surrounding scenery that continues to take your breath away. Spending time in the sunshine state means spending time in the sunshine itself, so don’t forget to prepare accordingly and always pack refreshments, ensuring you have a fun filled day without the worry of dehydration.
